Kyrgyzstan

So you may or may not know this, but I have officially departed the extremely hot and humid weather of South Carolina and traded up to Bishek, Kyrgyzstan.  Traded up you ask?  Well, it might be warm here, but there's almost no humidity which actually makes it very delightful in the mornings!  That, and at the DFAC (dining facilities) that are not only open 24 hours, they have gatorade, juice, and water galore!  The only rule is that you're not allowed to drink water out of the tap.  Apparently there's a bad diarrhea epidemic going around mostly due to the fact that people didn't pay attention to that important detail.

We are here to start and finish a lot of the beginning administrative tasks that need to be done before reaching our final destinations.  We arrived around 10:30 at night, and then finally were able to get some sleep after all 50,000 pounds of luggage were sorted, found their owners, meandered our way down to our barracks, obtained some sheets, made our beds, took a shower after 24 hours on a plane, and finally figured out whether or not the internet worked.  Everything has it's precedence :)  Obviously the internet works, although it's incredibly slow so no pictures for now.  I know you'll be disappointed, but don't worry, I still have to catch you up on the last parts of Fort Jackson!

I'm doing my best to keep myself occupied so I don't go to sleep and mess up my whole time schedule.  I think a 1-2 hour nap should do here pretty soon.....but I'm doing my best to adjust to the time zone here.

We should only be here for another 24-48 hours, and then onto Kandahar :)  If I can get a better internet connection I'll upload some more pictures, but for now, I'm safe and sound where I need to be :)
