So I'm currently up in LA learning skills that I'll be able to apply in Afghanistan while taking care of people. The schedule consists of both lectures and a fairly rigorous clinical schedule. I'll try to post the pictures, but again, I'm new at this so we'll see how well it works!
We've had about a week of classes so far, and started in the ER last night. It was a great shift to learn on- somewhat slow, but constantly busy. It allowed us to better know our roles within the trauma/ER bay and perfect IV skills and also using ultrasound. No suturing for me yet, but my fingers are crossed!! We're headed back again tonight, so I'm gonna take a quick nap. More updates and pictures to come!!

Hey Emily!! Thanks for creating a blog like this, what a great idea. I look forward to reading it while you are so far away. Good luck in LA and when you get the address for your location in South Carolina let us know. :)
